Prevention is the best cure, so here are some tips that I and others have found to be great

Ticks are mostly not interested in healthy hosts, if you, your family and pets have a good strong immune system, filtered water, a healthy
diet, and do exercise regularly.

You are welcome to add any other helpful natural ways that you know works, to help prevent tick's poison from effecting the body.

1.
Natural
Remedies:
Add more sulpha type foods into the diet for family and animals, e.g. eggs, garlic.

Take Vitamin C and a Tick homeopathic remedy for tick bites regularly for prevention.

See reference page for where to buy this.

Use Aromatherapy oils (away from the homeopathic remedy as anything strong smelling will possibly cancel out the effects of the remedy) made of Cedar Oil, Tea Tree oil, Peppermint or a combination of oils.

Food grade natural Diatomaceous earth, is a natural Silica, can be taken internally for humans and pets, mix with food.
Spread outside around main house area, and use in animals bedding, this repels  and destroys pests, like ticks, fleas and other insects including their eggs. This will also help and discourage bandicoots, wallabies and other small animals that carry ticks around your house.

Grow insect repelling plants, chrysanthemums, citronella, lavender, sage and garlic in your garden.

Guinea Fowl and Bush Turkeys love to eat ticks and leaches.

2.
Wear suitable clothing when in the garden or
bush walking.

Wear a hat to protect your head and neck.

Wear light-coloured clothing so you can see small ticks, especially nymphs.

Tuck your pants into your socks so ticks can’t get onto your legs.

Wear a long-sleeved shirt and tuck it inside
your pants.

Look for ticks on your body, including in your hair, after gardening, or when you return from hiking or walking. Shake out your clothes and hang them outside as ticks can cling on, or put through clothes dryer.

Check children and pets for ticks regularly.

Cut grass and trim the shrubs
and small trees
round your house to minimise contact with
ticks.
