1. Coping with Lyme like related HERX REACTIONS through detoxing. A herx reaction is caused by neurotoxins released by microbes when they are being killed off. A herx usually starts a few days into treatment – starting a new medication or supplement that is killing bugs. Herx reactions can last anywhere from a few hours to days or even weeks. • To minimize herxing here are some things that I have found helpful: • Drink fresh squeezed lemon or lime juice in warm water, 2-3 times daily. Clean your teeth afterwards to protect tooth enamel as lemon and lime juice are acidic. • Drink ionized, alkaline water – if you can drink 1 - 2 liters per day. • Eat a good diet with a good breakfast eggs and bacon, no toast, and lunch a main meal, with animal proteins, cook in healthy ghee (clarified butter), and use organic butter on fresh lightly steamed or baked vegetables. Have a light dinner veggie soups, and broths made with chicken or veal stock is really nurturing. • Cut back on carbs as much as possible, careful on fruits as these will turn to sugar to feed the bacteria. • Juice some greens if possible and drink wheatgrass juice. • Take a digestive enzyme half hour before meals. • Take Epsom salts baths as the magnesium sulfate assists with detox. Magnesium is also relaxing for sore aching muscles and the nervous system. • Nurture your nervous system with a good nervines tonic, and Homeopathic remedy. • Try to rest and sleep as much as possible. • Use far infra red sauna if possible, but only for short durations as tolerated. • Detoxing with Vit. C, Ghee flush, is also nurturing along with Aromatherapy oils. • If you can tolerate doing a coffee enema to help the liver and bowels flush out toxins. • Learn to use some of the following or go to a tick literate health practitioner who can help you. • Muscle testing for yourself, PSYCH-K balance. • Use Homeopathy. • Art and Colour Therapy. • Yoga Kundalini is slow stretching and great breathing techniques. • Gentle walking exercise. • Listening to your body • Your own intuition through dreams and daily spiritual practice.
